A clearer way in

Two spring-fed rivers.
One unforgettable view.

Sara, the owner, meets you at the water, fits the gear, and points you down a route that fits the wind and the day. After that you paddle on your own: a self-guided outing with a host at both ends, not a tour that follows you down the river. Book clear kayak rentals at Silver Springs for the wilder run, or a paddleboard on Rainbow River when you want brighter water. Both sit about 90 minutes from Orlando.

Why clear?

Because half the adventure is below you.

A transparent hull turns the riverbed into a moving window. Watch eelgrass sway, follow a bass or a school of mullet across the sand, and see the spring from an entirely different point of view.

who you’ll meet.

Look down for fish and turtles. Look up for birds. Leave plenty of room for the animals people come hoping to meet.

We had the greatest Family time kayaking down the Rainbow River with Florida Springs Kayaking. The kids had a blast! Sara was an incredible guide, she even got ahead of us to take pictures. This will be one of our Families most memorable vacations. Highly recommend!

Good to know

Before you
launch.

Do I need kayaking experience?+

No. These calm-water experiences are beginner-friendly. Listen to the launch briefing, choose the ride that feels right and paddle at a comfortable pace.

Which river should I choose?+

Choose Silver Springs for dense wild scenery and wildlife possibilities, including clear kayak rentals at Silver Springs. Choose Rainbow River for bright blue water and a more open, leisurely spring-run feel — or paddleboard Rainbow River if you want the height.

Will we see manatees or monkeys?+

Possibly, but wildlife is wild. Manatees and monkeys are a Silver Springs story, and even there they set the schedule. Manatee season is November through March. What shows up more often on both rivers is the everyday company: fish through the hull, turtles on the logs, birds overhead. Sightings are never promised.

What should I bring?+

Sun protection, water, secure footwear and a dry bag for anything you want to keep splash-free. Travel light and arrive ready for Florida weather.
